There is lots to see in Florence and it would be best to see...
There is lots to see in Florence and it would be best to see 1 attraction a day, a maximum 2. I would recommend it, especially to art lovers! I would not really recommend it with a toddler though. There is much to see for adults, toddlers might get bored. The roads are not very stroller-friendly as the wheels tend to get stuck a lot. Coming from a sunny country myself I did not expect it to be so hot already at the beginning of June, I would suggest going towards the end of September.

PLan ahead !
PLan ahead ! Lots of things needed pre-booking so if you don't plan you miss out. Experiences not published such as the walk to the Rose Garden and watching the sunset - hundreds there but we came across it by accident. Watch out for the Tourist traps - book and stay 2 or 3 blocks back from the old city for a better experience. Take GOOD walking shoes.

We loved Florence and hope to return.
We loved Florence and hope to return. I would avoid climbing up the Duomo and Bell Tower. Our legs ached for 3 days after and its just a gimmicky thing to do. Much better views from the viewing point across the river. Inside the Duomo Cathedral is really not so great. From outside, it's superb, but there are many better church interiors in the city. We found Uffizzi to be too overwhelming in a way. Unless you want to specifically see the greats that are displayed there, spend a few hours at Pitti Palace instead. Superb! Food and wine everywhere was outstanding. And of course Gelato. Our favourite restaurant was Bettegone in Piazza Duomo. Top quality. Highlight of our trip was going twice to St Marks Anglican Church to see 2 amazing performances- Italian Love Duets on first night and La Traviata on second night. This was a lucky find. Don't miss it! A very intimate setting, outstanding performers, great acoustics. The information isn't on their website oddly enough, but do your research and you should find it. Performances throughout the year. Wear good walking shoes in Florence. We walked miles every day

Florence is an easy city to visit as it is smaller and more welcoming. You cannot get lost. Lots to see and do, I would have loved to visit the monuments or the galleries I could not do on this trip. The small plazas offer restaurants you can eat leisurely or have a drink at and there is an ongoing life around them. The Ponte Vecchio is charming, easy to stroll along both sides of the river where you can see all the bridges and merchants. I was mesmerized by the beauty of Florence churches, basilica and synagogue. And a stroll in the Boboli gardens allows you to admire its beauty and recharge your energy. Definitely a city NOT to miss!

Huge dissapointment.
Huge dissapointment. I do understand that the Italians are suffering from the massive tourism that they make their living off. The ”Italian” is completely diluted, and I had to go far off the center to get any Italian feeling from Florence. Big mistake coming here, and I can for my life not understand why people come to Florence. I will never come here again.

Florence is a outdoor museum, there is art wherever you look.
The Cathedral Santa Maria de Fiore left me speecheless, also I recommend buying the bruneleschi pass, with it you can visit the baptistery, the campanile and the amazing dome, and once you get up, the best 360 views of this amazing city will be waiting.
It is very easy move around by bus, using google maps, and you can pay the ticket with your own bank credit or debit card, I did it with google pay and it worked perfectly.
I definitely have to come back!
This is an interesting place, part of it is for long term students/international workers. It has a very artsy eclectic vibe. It was close to the train station and close enough to walk to the main attractions in Florence. The rooms were big for Florence, and there was free laundry in the basement which worked well. There is a very nice gym that my husband was happy to use, as most of our hotels in Italy have not had a gym. The best part of the hotel is the rooftop pool/bar! amazing views of the Duomo!
Relais Tiffany is in a great location for exploring Florence and is close to the train station too if you're travelling. The room was comfortable and clean with AC and water, tea and coffee provided. Antonella was super helpful and sent through a list of recommendations beforehand including where to eat, drink etc. She also helped us plan how to get to our next destination in Italy and was really flexible with us when it came to leaving our bags after check out time. We would highly recommend!
The hotel is a perfect hideout in the crazy-busy Florence. The location is just 5-10 minutes from the main sightseeing objects. The property is spotless clean. There is a choice of sweet or savory breakfast and both choices are splendid! The coffee made by Kiran is the best in town! Both Nicola and Kiran are very nice and helpful, a true example of Italian hospitality. The hotel exceeded our expectations and raised the bar very high for our next trip to Italy🙂
This is a hidden gem in the hills of Florence, just 15 minutes drive from the city center. Martina and her husband are perfect hosts, gave us the best tips for restaurants (Zocchi) and ice cream (Badiani). The apartment was spacious, well-equipped, and our terrace let no wish unanswered: full view of the Hills of Tuscanny right in front of our eyes. The pool is amazing. We are often in Italy but this was clearly one of the best experiences.
The location is perfect - very close walking distance to everything in Florence, including the historic sites and train station. From your balcony you have a great view of the Dome. The room has everything you need - full kitchen, two bathrooms, three bedrooms if needed (although one is a futon). TVs in the room is a nice bonus - most places in Italy from my experience don't have this. The best part about this stay is the location.
Without a doubt the best party we had in Italy! The residence is beautiful, very well decorated, the rooms and bathrooms are large, beds and showers are excellent. The staff is super kind and helpful, the breakfast is delicious, and of course, the cute dogs are delightful company. We will definitely be back and we will recommend it to everyone who stays in Florence 🙂
We couldn’t have been more pleased with this gem in Florence! Best place we stayed in all of our Italy travels. Wonderful bathroom and beautiful high ceilings. We felt so comfortable.
The location is perfect. And the staff are the most helpful people we’ve dealt with our whole trip. 10/10. If we ever go back we would stay here again!
If you're looking for a place to stay in Florence - you just found it. Don't hesitate, this hotel is PERFECT in cleanliness, location, breakfast, team, air conditioning - everything! It was one of the best choices we made when in Italy. We booked the room with the hot tub and the tiny balcony, and it was fantastic :)
Although it was not in the heart of Florence the new tram running between the airport and the centre makes it a great location and it is only about a 5 minute walk away from the hotel. The bed and pillows were about the most comfortable we had in our 5 weeks in Italy. Would definitely stay there again!
Hotel is beautiful and the oldest hotel in Italy. stunning junior suite and proposed to my girlfriend there. staff are exceptional you feel like the most important person there. location is perfect to see Florence and the restaurants are all in close range. thank you so much for a perfect stay. ❤️🖤
This is the best hotel we've stayed in anywhere in Italy over the last 25 years. It takes everything to perfection, even (still!) offers free newspapers. Breakfast, the bed (including linen), the roof terrace, and of course the location were all perfect!
Besides being centrally located to everything a first time visitor would want to see, there was the comfort and beauty of the location. Excellent host and comfortable room that felt like you were actually in Italy rather than a prefab boring hotel room.
Excellent place to stay in Florence. Staff were very kind and sweet. The manager from the hotel also an excellent person. The rooms were so clean and comfortable. Definitely we recommend this place for your vacations in Florence- Italy
This hotel was one of the best ones we have stayed at in Italy. It not only offers a wide variety of amenities, but it also has the most friendly staff. When we go to Florence again, we will definitely stay at this hotel!
Definite value for money, we loved the room , had a little coffee station and fridge, a lovely couch that we also adored. Petite and elegant boutique hotel. The breakfast was the best we had had in our trip to Italy.
I was traveling by car and I chose this place for the parking place (which was good, and apparently a rare thing in Florence or Italy in general), and location (15 minutes walk to the city center).
We really loved the location and all of the staff was so friendly and accommodating. This hotel really set the bar as it was the first place we stayed in Italy. Absolutely would stay here again!
The hotel is super new, the staff is friendly and helpful, rooms are huge with high ceilings, breakfast is delicious and the mattress/pillows were the best we had in our 20 days trip to Italy!
