A great little town with great beaches a good marina, a fishing fleet and places near the fleet where you can buy fish and chips and watch the sunset. On the upside, it has a Pizza Hut that you can actually dine in, it has great beaches and a really good lookout where you can go to watch all the rocket launches. Yep, Bowen is the site of Australias first space vehicle launching facility with the fist one due to go up early May 24.. It is also the site of the "outside scenes" of the movie "Australia" go down to the pier and look back at the pub, and you will see the scene where the Japs were bombing Darwin.. Also has a really good n local information place and when we were there, really cheap fuel. So well worth a visit

The cabins are in a great position on the waterfront, with lovey views out to sea, BUT don't expect to be on the beach, as the only access to the beach is via a ramp, and at high tide there is no beach!
Bowen is an interesting little town and there are several eating places not far away and right on the beach.

Great little ocean town, had the best Chinese ever at Horshoe Bay, great breakfast at the yacht club & loved having a paddle at Horshoe Bay. There was also an ice cream vendor there who sold the most amazing ice cream. Great spot & can't wait to come back

Bowen is great for a weekend away to relax and unwind, greys bay is great to have paddle in the kayak or SUP. Bowen hotel is a good pub for families with an indoor A/C playground, and other good food venues to pick. Horseshoe bay is a must and the walk is brilliant to.

Handy location. Comfortable modern unit.
Only about 50 meters to the nearest bar & restaurant at the Grand View Hotel, where they sold really good meals, & to the shops in the Main Street. A short stroll to the front beach & a pleasant walk to the wharf.
Pizza Hut in the Main Street, Cove restaurant at Grays Bay beach provided excellent meals. Rosebay cafe & The Sisters were open for really good breakfasts plus Jochheims pies & Arabon prawns great for lunch.
Enjoyed the drive & view up Flagstaff hill plus the Sunday market at Queens beach.

I was very surprised by Bowen.
I was very surprised by Bowen. I had no idea it was as incredibly beautiful as it was. The scenery was amazing as was the local streets. It was fantastic to see nil weeds growing on the edges of the roads as you were driving around.
Just a tip though, the cafe, Horseshoe Bay Cafe, gave extremely poor service. The staff brought our breakfast out amazingly quickly but we discvovered that there were no forks at our table, just knives. We went to one of the waitstaff and asked for forks and she replied that there wer none. I went to an empty table and took clean forks from there. The breakfast was really nice, but I had finished my bacon and eggs on toast before our coffee arrived, which was ordered at the same time. It was very disappointing.
We were very happy with Bowen Holiday Park. At the beginning we booked for 1 night only with our cat while travelling North and we were impressed by the great value of money as well as the clean and renovated cabins. We had such a great experience that we decided to stay more nights on our way back. Very friendly staff Gabriel and Bec. Bowen is also a great location with beautiful beaches. Would visit again Bowen Holiday Park
Coral Cove Apartments were nice and central to all the action happening in Bowen for the event we came here for. The managers, Pat and Kate were so welcoming and friendly that they made you feel so relaxed and that anything you asked them was not a bother. I would definately come back to stay there and would definately be telling my friends to stay there as well.
We thought the apartment was lovely and spacious, definitely plenty of room, and had everything we needed really, the view was amazing, and we loved being able to just walk outside to eat at the Coral Cove Chinese restaurant for dinner or stroll down to the Horseshoe Bay Cafe for breakfast, or a to go for a swim at the beaches close by.
A wonderful few days spent in this very quite Queensland coastal town, the caravan park is right on the water’s edge, my thanks to Tery and Ryan for helping me find a car ride back to Proserpine , without there help I would have missed my flight back to Brisbane.
They are so helpful, thank .
Very convenient easy hotel & dog friendly. Friendly staff & old fashioned service.
Even fresh milk supplied
Fenced off dog area out the back made for low maintenance safe dog walking area & right opposite a beach for further dog walking which was very convenient, nice breeze & view
Loved it, such a friendly welcome by reception!! Perfect for an overnight stop or a few days to explore Bowen! Pool was a great size (hot, but I mean you can't help that lol!) Walking distance to esplanade.
The location near Horseshoe Bay and Grays Beach was amazing. Hosts very accommodating and very helpful. We enjoyed staying in Bowen, highlights were snorkelling, playing on the beach and the Sunday markets.
A convenient overnight stay, the room was clean, the bed comfortable and the room is pet friendly as well so it suited us perfectly. Being close to the highway there is a little noise.
Very friendly and clean. It was located in the middle of Bowen so suitable for what we were going for. Very clean and standard facilities for a hotel of this style.
Ground floor room opening on to well maintained grassed garden area.
Private walkway to Horseshoe Bay.
Sofa in the room.
Kitchenette with cooking facilities.
Great location on the beach. Arlie beach was full due to a concert, so we went to Bowen as it had the nearest available accommodation. Worked out great.
