What a fabulous find! Nothing was too much trouble for the friendly team at the Bike & Boot.
We came as a small group (plus a dog!) for a walk in the Peaks and an overnight stay to celebrate a big birthday. The team couldn’t do enough to make our stay memorable.
A big shout out to Katie in the Bareca restaurant on Friday night for making us feel special:)
Lovely, modern brand new rooms with everything you need. Even the dog got his own bed and a toy! Amazing service

A perfect 2 night stay. Rooms were spotlessly clean, the staff are second to none and the breakfast, with so many choices was excellent. A table is reserved for you each evening if you want to eat there, which we did because the food was so good. Highly recommended.

Lisa was an extremely helpful host. I left something behind and she immediately contacted me and offered to mail it for me. The cottage is charming and cosy. Highly recommended.
Lovely little cottage. Be aware of steep steps upstairs.
Lovely little cottage. Be aware of steep steps upstairs. Couldn’t use log burner as log store locked up . There was no property information as is usually in holiday rentals.
The car park where you could use a free parking pass was full so had to pay, which is no fault of the property.

Excellent location to Mam Tor, Winnats Pass and surrounding walks. Village pretty and quaint with a few shops, tea rooms, restaurants and pubs to visit. Visitors center within the village. We stayed at the Castle, nice enough. Also ate there for dinner and food and service was good.
I'd say Castleton is a place you'd stay for 1-2 nights.

We love Castleton.
We love Castleton. It is such a great place for walking, from a short walk along the river to Hope, to 3-4 hour walks to Mam Tor or Loose Hill (this includes returning to Castleton). And there are some cozy fireside pubs right in the centre of the village with good food. We have stayed overnight at 3 pubs (Ye Olde Nags Head, The Castle and The Cheshire Cheese) and its just great. A few gift shops, but no supermarkets .... which means we are not tempted to do the shopping while we are away! To be honest I don't know where the nearest supermarket is. Have fun in Castleton!

Wonderful place, have stayed many times , plenty of walks for all abilities, the caverns are well worth a visit, and Peak cavern is a brilliant venue to see live bands and films, all the pubs are warm, welcoming and all the meals we have had were good value and excellent, never mind the real ales, well worth a holiday.

Castleton is a lovely village with lots of things to do and see. You have to like hiking and hills especially. There are numerous pubs all offering similar ware and all having a warm ambiance that makes you feel welcome.
The village is full of history and is truly the gateway to a lot of hiking routes, mines, and just general nice English things you can and should do

A lovely little place!
A lovely little place!
If you like waking or friendly pubs a great location!
We went on a Friday and lots of the shops closed, not sure why?
Only small not much about to ‘wander’ but a couple of tea rooms
You can easily do a lovely loop of Castletown in under an hour.,
I love staying at YHAs in general, but they are all different: Castleton Losehill is special it is a beautiful property perfectly located in the Dark Peak- for me it's a great stopping point halfway between work and home. But more than that the villages around have tons of lovely pubs, shops, and history as well as being in a beautiful part of the world where you can go for walks long or short. YHAs are no frills but for 30 pounds to have your own room, have it be quiet and free wifi- you can't really complain.
The location of the cottage is spectacular. It is central to everything you want to do in Castleton. There's a view of the castle from the single bedroom - a bonus we hadn't expected. The cottage is extremely clean and cozy. The parking lot is conveniently located across the street. Everything we needed - from dishes to laundry tabs - was already in the cottage. Instructions and recommendations supplied by the owners were very thorough and appreciated.
The George is a lovely traditional pub in an excellent location for exploring Castleton and the Peak District. The staff in particular were excellent, very friendly and helpful. We stayed in for dinner one night which was delicious, and had a generous breakfast included each morning. If we were in the same area we wouldn’t hesitate to visit again.
Nice friendly staff, excellent breakfast and the addition of a new bar for Castleton carried out in a tasteful way, we like the fact that the traditional old reception room/guest room has stayed the same. Best of luck with the new Swiss Tap and I think it will thrive as it has fair prices {for Castleton} and a good range of beers on tap.
Great Location passage to Cave Dale walk on the doorstep as well as Mam Tor, great for exploring what Castleton has to offer. Dinner recommended at The Castle Inn & The Peak Hotel, Look out for live music at the Nags Head & Breakfast at Tilly's Cafe was Brilliant.
Everything. The room was clean, spacious and had excellent views of the Derbyshire Dale's. The breakfast was excellent.
The location was perfect, surrounded by beautiful countryside and only a ten minute walk across the fields to Castleton and all its eateries.
The hotel is absolutely amazing. The location, the facilities, the ambience, the decor, the staff must get a really special ciao mention! All the staff were absolutely delightful especially Katie whose level of customer service was outstanding 👏
Our stay was lovely, the room was really clean and tidy and had everything we needed. The hotel is located pretty much in the centre of Castleton and all of the pubs, shops and restaurants are in close walking distance! I’d definitely stay again!
They were so friendly and welcoming. The breakfast was delicious. Everyone was so helpful and informative. The b and b and the surrounding area is stunning and he room was well beautiful, had a stunning view, very clean and well equipt.
The location is amazing, the village of Castleton is very charming, as is the hotel itself. The staff was very helpful and friendly, and made our stay great! The food was good in the restaurant, especially the breakfast!
The hotel was warm and comfortable and the staff were very welcoming. The bar had a log fire and the breakfasts and dinners were very good. There was even a free small bottle of wine in our bedroom.
Beautiful area. Fell walking dream. Also general walks. Great accommodation, great staff, good, hotel, the local people are also very friendly. Coming from Blackpool we weren't used to that 😂
