The room was so clean as was the bathroom. The inn its self offered great food and the staff were so helpful and friendly. While sitting in the restaurant or outside you could enjoy the beautiful views. Would highly recommend .

Lovely property in a great location, with excellent accommodation, a pretty, fully enclosed private garden, much enjoyed by our Cavachon, Rosie. Our host, Sam, was very helpful but non-intrusive.

The castle is lovely from the outside...but it wasn't made clear that you can only get into castle if you book the tour....and you have to pay an extra £3 for that.......it's used as a university of sorts so its not your traditional castle on the inside........didn't get to see a lot of the rooms either....it does have lovely grounds though ....not much else actually in Herstmonceaux.

Pretty English Village.
Pretty English Village. Several Pubs and Restaurants to have a drink or meal. Enjoyed Homemade Chicken Burgers and Chips from The Grill Take-away, which was outstanding. Visited Herstmonceux Castle and stayed the night at Bader Hall, in the Castle grounds. Very central for Eastbourne, Pevensey Bay, Battle and Hastings.
A beautiful house in the perfect location. We were warmly welcomed and shown to our lovely suite by the owners, Sara and Simon. The little details made our short stay delightful. Since retiring we spend a considerable amount of time travelling and staying in hotels and I wish hoteliers had the same attention to what actually matters when staying away, very clean rooms, fresh flowers, large fluffy towels. I could go on. Breakfast was great, and really good fresh coffee, alleluia! The gardens are amazing, and well worth a stroll around
A wonderfully peaceful location. The property was sympathetically furnished to the age of the original house (1577). Warm and cosy with comfortable public lounge/dining area. The room had little touches that made it feel like a five star hotel, in fact exceeded some 5star hotels we have stayed in. Breakfast was generous and delicious, again as good as some topnotch hotels.
Delicious breakfast with so much choice. The location was perfect for the beach and Herstmonceux Observatory. Great food and drink at the Bull's Head Inn just a few yards across the road.
We were visiting from Ireland and had stayed in 2 other hotels as we traveled around.
Cleavers Lyng was by far the most lovely. Quiet, peaceful and delicious breakfast
Lovely welcome, friendly and beautiful location.
I stay in numerous hotels and B&B's all over the country and this establishment is the cleanest I have ever seen.
