In 160 acres of formal gardens, Shendish Manor features a leafy golf course, elegant restaurant and scenic countryside views. The manor is in Apsley, just outside Hemel Hempstead.

A decent sized room was great - comfy bed. The restaurant had a good selection of high quality food all freshly prepped and served by very busy (not enough?) staff who were pleasant but run off their feet. Reception staff were helpful and polite and happy to chat.

The room was comfortable and the bed was great.

The room was comfortable and the bed was great. The staff were friendly and accommodating. The bar area was great but small and crowded (we picked a busy time) The big disappointment was the food - Sunday evening meal was bad, very dried out mash, rock hard roast potatoes and a completely inedible Yorkshire pudding (obviously the last meal of the Sunday lunches). The chicken pie was good. The breakfast was awful.

    Nothing to like.

Nothing to like. Toilets dirty, room not that clean, food menu for evening meal poor and we were very ill after eating it. Charged £26.50 for breakfast when only had toast due to being ill all night. Fire doors slamming shut all night , dirty linen left on top of stairs all night

Really disappointing, we had a room with a view over a scrap area, that was messy as well as being ugly. The food was awful for dinner, the bar staff were sad, we weren't notified about the pool being closed.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at this hotel and it was a truly wonderful experience. The hotel offered a very good breakfast and lunch, with a wide variety of dishes that were both delicious and satisfying. The facilities were well-maintained and added to the comfort of our stay. The location of the hotel was a major highlight, being in close proximity to the Harry Potter Warner Bros Studios. This made our visit to the studios extremely convenient and added to the overall enjoyment of our trip.

Fantastic location for Harry potter at warner brothers and kings langley train station. Really old quirky building so don't expect modern plush. Staff were lovely . Bed comfortable and all clean linen. Walls to adjoining room a bit thin so noise carried. Shower was a bit of a struggle , but all in all for the price and location it was fantastic. Wish we'd had breakfast option , not available weekdays. However having a bar was great for the evening!!

The hotel staff were extremely friendly and helpful, especially at breakfast. The food was really yummy and good portion sizes. Even my fussy vegetarian daughter was happy. The gin cocktails also made sure she slept well 😆😉 The shower was powerful and plenty of hot water which was needed after a long journey. The restaurant was very clean and well decorated. We loved all the mirrors! The location was just what we wanted and plenty of parking.

The location was great for visiting Harry Potter Studios - 20 mins walk. The hotel itself was a historical building with beautiful pub/restaurant downstairs offering traditional British meals which were very tasty. The staff were very nice and friendly. The breakfast was really good. There was a selection of traditional breakfast dishes on the menu and there also were toasts, jams and cereals to have. The room price is quite affordable.

excellent location opposite parkland, with a wood beyond it.; in a nice old village. Loads and loads of free parking , also at hotel. Rare these days.. Good for dog-walkers. Pub grub food was fine, limited menu but not expensive. Nice old place with rooms mainly given over to eating, hence relatively small bar. Large bedroom, all clean and well-kept . Friendly staff. Very cheap on a Sunday night and hence really good value.

The hotel was set in a beautiful setting of a combination of open green space and woodlands. The staff were kind considerate and knowledgeable of the hotel and surrounding area. The common areas were well maintained and beautifully kept.the swimming pool was fantastic for a tranquil escape and the dining area had a stunning view. Room was of a respectable size and clean with attentive staff refreshing towels when needed.

Very attractive location - a picture book English village setting. Staff were efficient and friendly. The room was comfortable and quiet. A minor criticism is the apparent cost cutting measure of just two servings of coffee available in the room! Other than that it was excellent with very good cooked or continental breakfast available. I would consider staying at the Two Brewers again in the future.

A delightful, traditional old hotel, just as we'd expected. All the staff were very helpful. We arrived at 8am from an overnight flight, purchased an excellent breakfast, and asked if we could check in as soon as our room was ready. We were delighted they were able to arrange the early check in for us. We had delicious evening meal and there was a good choice of wines and beers,

The staff were lovely so helpful. The staff at breakfast were exceptional, one lady was so cheerful and smiled all the time she set us up for the day. Saying that all staff were lovely. Food was excellent and priced well. My only moan was seeing a lovely old building going to rot, needs lots of work on the outside especially as two brewers has such a history in Chipperfield.

We loved the comfy beds, and the hotel were able to arrange joining rooms with a connecting door which was perfect for our young kids. The breakfast was fantastic and we loved been able to go for a swim with the children before breakfast. We had the pool to ourselves. The location is perfect for Harry Potter studios. Would recommend.

It’s an ideal place to stay at if you are visiting the Warner Bros. studios. It looks just like the pubs from the movie. If you are looking for a 5 star hotel, keep looking, but if you like a unique stays surrounded by locals- you found your place.
