I stay in this beautiful hotel a lot and love it. For me the best part is the access to Portmarnock beach and also proximity to lots of eateries and things to do in the local area

Room was great and overall atmosphere in the hotel was excellent with many examples of architecture from the old castle. We had a great evening relaxing in the lounge.

Welcoming atmosphere close to Dart stop, parking on the street
Howth is the place to stay when visiting Dublin. Just 30 minutes by train away from he city centre, it is a small but beautiful town on a penninsula surrounded with cliffs and seagull collonies. Many great pubs and restuarants, fantastic views and, contrary to Dublin - the calm and peaceful atmosphere where you can really relax.

I did not know what to expect as we booked last minute to go to a concert in Malahide. Howth is a beautiful seaside town with lots on offer (restaurants, bars, cafes etc...) We hope to return in the near future to spend more time there. Great for couples & families. A bit hilly in places so you need to have good mobility if you want to explore or stay slightly out of town. I visited a beautiful cove in the morning time where there were lots of swimmers in the sea & it was so peaceful...great way to start the day.

Location: This was the first time we were setting foot on Irish soil. King Sitric in Howth was the first place we headed to from Dublin Airport. No regrets! So much to see and do in Howth. Charming views in every direction. So much to take in.
Transport: A short taxi ride or walk to the train station. Buses stop less than 100m from the hotel. I think one even passes right in front of the hotel.
People: The Irish are the best. Everywhere, they seem to be so welcoming and genuine.
Hotel and Rooms: Interesting history. It should be promoted more. Pleasant and friendly staff. Our room was steps from the ocean. What a lovely welcome to a lovely country. The room had nice little touches. Loved the in-room Nespresso & chocs. Nice hot showers.
Food: Amazingly fresh seafood in the restaurant downstairs for dinner (apparently caught by local fisherman in the sea right outside our room) and upstairs for guests' breakfasts; the menu items were well-chosen. Fish is also an option for breakfast! Found it strange though that so little bread is given, as there's so much rich and flavourful sauce to lap up. We even paid for more bread, but again it was just one tiny slice of bread. Maybe it's an Irish thing?
Pricing: We found Ireland in general to be very expensive, from hotels to food to shopping.

Cliff walk, buzz of day trippers, cafes and restaurants.
Cliff walk, buzz of day trippers, cafes and restaurants. Everything well maintained. Initially had trouble getting a pre dinner drink as most bars.taverns are booking their tables for diners. We were put out in the cold in O'Connells! Finally hit on The Harbour Bar which was lovely.

All the pubs serve the same type food ...very dated - fish and chips all that beautiful fish in batter...such a shame - there would need to be more variety without having to avail of fine dining. The food offerings do seem to be stuck in a time zone, needs to be more vegetarian, vegan etc....
However, Howth is beautiful and well worth a stay.
Sean was an amazing man.... So friendly, chatty and helpful. We were in Howth for a funeral and he was able to help others with accommodation last minute. He went out his way to make this happen.... Couldn't have asked for a better host! With us; he made us feel very welcome and cooked a great breakfast for us.
The guest house is a typical Irish home.... He was happy to give details of the property's history. His home is clean, tidy and a classic Irish warren! I loved it.
Thank you Sean... So very much for your kindness.
Absolutely wonderful, family owned property encompassing both the accommodations and restaurant (East). The rooms were incredibly clean, well appointed and with beautiful sea views. Breakfast was included and outstanding. East, which is the seafood restaurant downstairs, provided one of the most memorable meals in memory - I highly recommend the oysters, Dublin bay prawns and crab. Simple and perfectly executed. Thanks to all at King Sitric who made our stay so memorable. Howth is a gem, and we can’t wait to return. Sláinte!
Sean is helpful, friendly, informative, and genuine! You can tell he loves what he does!
His breakfast is amazing! He alwYs knows the weather for tou and local goings on as well, to help you plan your trip! A stoat, hedghogs and a seagull named Henrietta, who visits the kitchen window, live on site and add to the charm!
Beds are comfortable and rooms are exceptionally clean. The location in Howth is near a bus stop and a short walk to a train station. Dublin is easily accessible but howth is a quiet escape from the hustle.
The house was in an amazing location in Howth. The house was wonderful and extremely well equipped for every eventuality, including a prolonged power cut on Thursday night - we were able to find night lights and light a fire to keep warm while the electricity was out. The house is comfortable and very tastefully decorated you can tell that utensils, homeware etc. was good quality. There was no need for anything, everything that you needed for a visit was provided.
I don't think I have ever encountered more helpful staff. The atmosphere was really warm and friendly. The room really exceeded our expectations. Excellent shower. The breakfast is really generous and the breakfast menu is something different. We had one evening meal there as well which was excellent. Overall, we loved Howth, and this was a real jewell. We will be back.
This hotel is a hidden gem of Ireland. The front desk staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was very comfortable. We opened the window and slept very well with the sounds of the sea. Breakfast was cooked to order and delicious. There are many things to see near the hotel. We wished we had stayed more than one night.
Its closeness to the sea, and as weather was a little stormy, we could see and hear the waves which was something we had never experienced in a hotel stay before. It was fabulous! Also, our room and bathroom was spotless, very nicely decorated in a nautical theme, and warm and toasty. Bed very comfortable.
Breakfast was good.
The best part of the stay was the owner Seán, a retired gentleman who was just so naturally friendly and helpful. I asked about the house and he told us the history of his home that his parents had bought when they first married.
But of a tardis, looked small from outside but tons of space. Properly comfortable and stylishly decorated. Perfect location for us, right near the harbour with all its bars and restaurants, short walk to the DART for access to Dublin centre.
Superb Location. Clean comfortable quiet rooms. Excellent breakfast. Howth is a little gem, not to be missed when visiting Dublin. We really enjoyed the cliff walk, incredible views!
very convenient location. Full access to the facilities and common areas, including the kitchen. wonderful host. would stay here again for a short getaway to Howth.
Breakfast was very good, we had a sea view, room was adequate. staff were very friendly & helpful. Howth is a lovely location. Food in the restaurant was very nice.
all 3 meals just delicious, all the staff, the location for walking in Howth, the location next to the sea, very nice room and the ammenities in the room
