Roganstown Hotel & Country Club, hotel in Swords

Carefully restored to retain the character of the original Roganstown House, this is a magnificent Georgian house on the 300-acre Roganstown Estate. It boasts an AA Rosette award-winning restaurant.

I travelled with my daughter and two youngest grandchildren for an irish dancing feis, the rooms were superb and opposite each other (I requested as close as possible so spot on). They were also spotlessly clean and very comfortable with plenty of space. We did have a problem using the lift with the childs buggy because it exited upstairs in the middle of the dance floor but this was noticed and controlled by the organisers so no complaints there either. We only used the restaurant for breakfast on both mornings and the service and food quality was also excellent with a self service hot and cold buffet and hot drinks served by staff, our only preference for the food would be to have baked beans available but there was certainly no shortage of choice.

It was busier and bigger than I expected but offered all needed. The Swords Express Bus service works really well. You need exact coins as no change nor card facilities are offered on the bus. Swords is the perfect destination for exploring the area; being close to the airport and for frequent trips into Dublin. It also gives easy access to the Motorway if you wish to explore a further afield.

if like me you need this for a layover at Dublin Airport, don't choose this one. It's not on a bus route or walkable so you have to take a cab, which added $20 to my stay. The curtains didn't close all the way and I happened to be on the first floor looking directly at peoples cars. One of only two USB ports didn't work but thankfully one did so I could set an alarm and make it to the airport on time.

I was extremely excited to go to this hotel from the pictures that I viewed and was deeply disappointed when we arrived. Our room looked nothing like any of the photographs. I would never have stayed there if I saw the quality of the room. I will not be back.

This hotel was very well placed for our needs whilst in Dublin, near to the airport and an easy ride into the centre of Dublin. The hotel staff were extremely friendly and very helpful, organising taxis and giving us advice about Dublin. The hotel was very clean and comfortable and made us feel very welcome. It was really handy that we could walk downstairs and find a comfortable spot to have a drink, sit and chat and have a meal. We would highly recommend this hotel and would book it again if we go back to Dublin.

What a gem! Being close to the airport, we were surprised how quiet it was in Swords. Dominika has created a beautiful accommodation. Our room was so lovely and comfortable. It included a built in cabinet that contained a delicious continental breakfast that we could serve ourselves at our leisure the next morning. We were able to easily walk to Swords for dinner where we enjoyed a great meal at The Old Schoolhouse Bar and Restaurant. A perfect spot for our last night in Ireland. Made the leaving even harder!

Mary and Jimmy’s beautiful property was perfect for our stop in Dublin to watch the 6 nations international between Ireland v Wales. Superb family room, beautiful breakfast and the best hospitality from the owners. They couldn’t do enough for us. We have a 17 year old son with disability and Mary dropped us to either bus or train station every morning to book our daily travels and showed us around Swords and Malahide. Wonderful couple provided 1st class hospitality.

First of all, the hotel is perfect, very clean and very well maintained. Everything is perfectly indicated for key collection and room entry. The person in charge of the hotel is very kind and professional. It's a 10/10 all is perfect, I recommend you to go there. What's more, the center of Dublin is about 20 minutes away by cab. Thank you very much!

If your travelling trying to experience the Irish culture, the bar is a local pub for some of the older more conservative Irish residents where you will experience the language the jokes and of course the Guinness. The hotel staff was very friendly and Swords has very interesting little gems to explore.

This hotel is 10 minutes from Dublin airport and that's why we chose it. But it's nothing like a boring airport hotel. It's got charm and character and you can walk to several good restaurants within a few minutes. Very kind and helpful staff and bonus points for the hotel hiring Ukrainian refugees.

The owner was very helpful and friendly. We could walk to the bus stop and travel all over this part of Ireland, switching to trains when needed. It was in a rural setting but easy to get to Swords by bus. The breakfast was great and the decor was beautiful.
