Pantai Cenang is a nice beach, but the beach to the south is dreadful. Having said that, nothing is open (in April) along the beach. There are a handful of rented chairs and umberellas but no real beach service, such as in Patong and the like. Not a lot to look at... Being a Muslim country, you cannot be served a cocktail on the beach. Go outside Malaysia for that. The people are wonderful and the food great, but it is not set up for western tastes. This time of year (Ramadan) most places are closed and it is like a ghost town.

It's a local area on the beach with many eateries and shops, you can get a more expensive or cheaper massage, not to mention they have a very good wine shop that provides some reasonable wines at a fair price.
There is a variety of food close by or you can find some more expensive dining at Hotels around the place, but the local food was very good.
The question would l go back, the answer is Yes, we have already booked our next trip to the same hotel, wonderful experience and very relaxing holiday

Noise day and night.During the day, the windows overlook the pool with a bar, where drunk people discuss their problems very loudly in the afternoon All wooden chalet with common repartition wall, terrible audibility, everything that your neighbors do you will hear as if you live with them.... After talking to the reception that it is impossible to sleep until 3 am, we were offered the same room but in another chalet...
We will definitely not go to this place again

Attractions of Langkawi are covered in a few days.
Attractions of Langkawi are covered in a few days. Beaches near hotel (southwest) are OK during high tide, but water appears dirty in shallow areas at low tide. Not inviting for swimming and plenty of jelly fish in the sea. Perhaps beaches in north near luxury resorts are better, but did not experience.
Food in hotel and surrounding area disappointing and very touristy. Overall not very expensive but low quality. Well suited perhaps for budget travelers.Transportation (taxi) very affordable.

The best area to stay on the island if you are looking for nice beaches with a lively atmosphere. We always feel safe in this area. Yellow cafe is a great spot to watch the sunset and also has nice food. The Cliff restaurant has a good happy hour during sunset hours and would highly recommend a visit here.

There's a Japanese restaurant called Unkaizan.
There's a Japanese restaurant called Unkaizan. Its food quality is disgusting. The worst I have ever experienced and they know it but just could not care any less. There are much better options. level 1 of the mall in Cenang has a conveyer belt Japanese that you can order from a menu its cheaper and much better.
For a real quality Japanese you have to go to Kuah (20 minutes) and visit Tokyo Japanese restaurant. The Chef there is amazing, try his black prawn, just tell him 4 days before though as that's how long it takes to prep them,
Middle eastern food is also wonderfully catered for by one of the first restaurants you come across on the entrance the the Cenang strip. Amazing quality food but be careful not to over order.
All the Chinese restaurants are much the same offering good quality items.
If on a budget go local, there are plenty of options. We had Turmeric chicken a couple of times and it was delicious (with rice) and only cost 8 Ringgits (about £1.25).
We booked the room with the pool views and it was impeccable! The resort was definitely a 5 star resort so we definitely were living large, the hotel was super friendly and really kind, we loved our stay and wished we'd stay longer in Langkawi. The rooms are stunning , the bed is ridiculously comfy and the layout is quite literally so perfect with a private space! We went to the spa and that was incredible, super relaxing service! Very convenient location if you’re doing a lot of island hopping .
best experience staying at this hotel for 3days 2 nights. The room is beautiful and equipped with necessary items and stuffs. The sea view is beautiful especially during the evening. I can watch the sunset and watch people paragliding at the beach from my balcony. The swimming pool is 1.2ft. Perfect depth for someone who can't swim like me haha. for me , Aloft Langkawi very recommended !🥰 i will come again soon!!
I really like this hotel. I stayed in a family room with two friends. We spent 4 days in Langkawi, and for almost 2 and a half days, it was raining, so we stayed in the hotel to rest. We also enjoyed having drinks and chatting at the small table outside our room in the evenings. If you're looking for a relaxing trip, you can consider choosing this hotel. The hotel owner and the bar owner are both very friendly.
Captain Jai is a professional sailor and I came to Langkawi for sailing. Captain Jai took me to meet the local sailors in Langkawi and browse the local second-hand sailing shop. Even I boarded his boat! And sail.
Captain Jai is very enthusiastic, and the room is very clean and tidy. Maybe the bathroom needs a little refurb.
If you also like sailing, or want to get to know Langkawi better, you must come here!
i loved the location of the hotel it was away from the crowded areas in Langkawi but also near. being by the pool near the open field was relaxing. and it was 5minute walk to the near open beach. loved the lobby deco very instagramble . the staff were super nice and welcoming . and it has onsite tours booking which I booked the mangrove tour and the island hoping tour from and it was great!
Langkawi was the perfect place to relax and enjoy the surroundings. All the staff were so helpful and very efficient. We had booked bed and breakfast and had our evening meals in the hotel. Our favourite was the BBQ lamb.Great happy hour with the band in the bar before dinner and the band were still playing after. A lovely way to spend an evening. Again the bar staff were so good.
Location: close to Langkawi airport, which was ideal for us as we had an early 8:45AM morning flight. It’s around 15 minutes grab ride from the central Cenang area.
Packed breakfast: the staff prepared take away boxes for breakfast (incl. toast, jam, omelet, baked beans, sausages butter, coffee and juice). This was great!
Hotel provides slippers - always appreciate this.
I absolutely cannot explain how loving, kind, and incredible our host was! She is the kindest woman who took such good care of us! My boyfriend was sick and she let us check in hours earlier than planned. The breakfast was DELICIOUS! The room and bed were comfortable. You must stay here during your stay to Langkawi! It’s a home away from home.
Fantastic budget hotel with spacious clean rooms and a great view from Seaview rooms. Tasty Asian breakfast served on the roof with spectacular views. Right in the centre of Pantai Cenang across the road from the beach. The pool was sparkling clean. All staff were friendly and helpful. A perfect place to enjoy a budget stay on Langkawi.
Excellent place to stay, friendly staff. The food was really good and the surrounding was very peaceful and relaxing. The rooms were well-kept. The views from the room are fabulous. Must try the sunset dinner and the breakfast at the in-house restaurant. If visiting Langkawi will definitely stay here again.
The environment is clean and cozy. It is considered near to Pantai Cenang. (500m). It takes 10 to 15 minutes to walk to the beach and shop around there. Water Filter has provided at outside the receptionist room. Huge opened parking space for guests. It is recommended you rent one car to travel in Langkawi.
A really nice accommodation in Langkawi, extremely good for the price. Located relatively close to the road, but far enough to be quiet (well, the two geese were less quiet, but they were cute, the guardians of the place :D). Owners were nice and helpful, and the free breakfast was a welcome addition.
Great place to stay at when visiting Langkawi. Tho it's a little on the pricier side, it's worth it considering how clean, comfortable and social it is. Very easy to meet people if you are traveling solo as there is a huge social area. The water filter is a nice bonus. Everything is close by also.
The hotel was in a great location! It was a close drive to both island hopping tours and the Langkawi sky bridge. Having a beach behind the property was also great.
As a solo traveller the amazing hospitality of the staff really helped to make my trip as enjoyable as possible. The
Staff are extremely responsive and friendly. The location of the property directly on the beach was my reason to choose this property over newer/more modern hotels in Langkawi. The spacious garden makes for a pleasant setting.
