The Grand Sal Hotel was very nice. Everything in the room was clean and stocked with soap, body wash, towels etc. The staff was very kind and helpful. They accommodated me by speaking English, as that is the only language I know. I had dinner in the restaurant and it was also extremely good. Breakfast the next morning was great with many options and a coffee / expresso machine. The location was perfect to walk to the salt mine tour the next morning. I was extremely pleased during my stay at the hotel.

Delicious breakfast and dinner, warm and well-maintained room, high-quality tap water. We Hungarians love a good scrambled egg and basically eat double the portion than the average Polish portion.

Very beautiful old, small town.
Very beautiful old, small town. The salt mine is something that absolutely needs to be seen by any serious turist! The place is just magical and very interesting. The town itself is very unique and has a lot of surprising architectural gems. We visited a few restaurants during our stay there in different places, and the food is superb. Definitely polish, but with some unique twists and surprises. I would love to come back here in the future.

We only stayed in Wieliczka for one night, but we had a wonderful stay and were pleasantly surprised with the little town. We went to the salt mine, which is a must do if you are in the area. Afterwards we had a stroll through the town, went to the market plain and found delicious sorbet at Lody P.Maklowicz (for about $1). After exploring some of the old churches and monuments in the area we found a small restaurant, Va Banque Restauracja, where we had a really good meal-oven baked salmon with salads etc. (very big portion and good price) and we ended of our day with a coffee and sharing a piece of apple pie at Cafeteria Espresso Wieliczka. This was one of the few places that actually seemed to serve decaf coffee and the owner spoke English very well. We found that in a lot of the smaller towns in Poland even a lot of the bigger cities as well, the majority of people do not speak English or just understand it, barely. Luckily the google translate app is a big help.

Went specifically to see the salt mine.
Went specifically to see the salt mine. I wish I had researched a bit more and did the hands on miners tour and not the walk through tour. Upon finishing the tour, you have to walk about 800m through a corridor to get to the lift. Upon reaching the surface you end up about 600m from the salt mine entry point, google maps is really helpful as there isn’t much direction from the tour guides on completion of the tour once you reach the surface. “Kuchnia Smaku” does a decent feed too. We also stayed in Wieliczka and caught the train to Krakow, which was really cheap and took us straight into Krakow town centre. From there it is a short walk to the town centre and to Wawel castle (closed Monday’s). The basilica was fantastic and I highly recommend the audio tour (an extra 7pln and a 100pln deposit for the unit which you get back when you return the audio device). At Krakow main station, it’s really confusing and you have to buy tickets from an actual person from a ticket desk, I didn’t see any self help ticket machines. The ticket machine at the Wieliczka train station was also complicated as it offered options for about 6 different train lines, we just chose the first option, and there is no option to use money, just PayPass/credit card on those machines either.

Wieliczka salt mine is a place worth to see.
Wieliczka salt mine is a place worth to see. We had a tourist tour, but we are planning to return there and take a miner's tour (when our kids will be older and fit for this tour). Moreover - it takes a little ride to get from Wieliczka to Auschwitz-Birkenau museum (nazi concentration camps) and to Krakow aviation museum.
The breakfast was plentiful but the coffee from the coffee machine was pretty awful! That would be my only criticism about breakfast. We tried several times to get a good hot cup of coffee but gave up after a while
The room was large, comfortable and clean
The common parts of the hotel all seemed really clean, including the spa which we used on one occasion
We did actually eat a few evening meals at the hotel and having stayed for a week thought there might have been a change of menu at some stage but there wasn't
This hotel is one of the finest I've ever stayed at. We were greeted warmly, shown around, and even given the option to choose our room. The rooms boast impeccable cleanliness, offering laundry facilities, and the breakfast is unbelievably tasty and hearty. Everywhere in the hotel is clean and tidy, and there is the option to park your car in a secure area. We will definitely return to this hotel and will recommend it as one of the best accommodations near Krakow.
Great location, right near the salt mine and the main town area. Kitchen was equipped as described. Living area comfortable. Check in was easy and efficient; had a glitch with check-out - as we decided to leave early and stay in Krakow for the last night due to early flight. Host had car trouble and couldn't collect the keys, so we had to improvise - not their fault or ours, but we generally prefer an option with a lock box or reception, whenever possible.
The hotel is very well situated right next to the salt mines and the city center of Wieliczka. The room was clean and the beds were comfortable. Both the restaurant and the breakfast buffet are very good and prepared and served by an amazing staff. It was possible to leave the car at the parking of the hotel after checkout, during our visit of the salt mines.
Very nice, modern and spacious room with comfy beds; clean and shiny bathroom. Top!Very good breakfast for reasonable surcharge. We liked also area around the hotel and the most - vicinity to Wieliczka Salt Mine. Really recommend this hotel if you are planning to visit the mine it was just about 8 min of drive.
The hosts were very accommodating and nice. The room was spacious and clean. The Host was willing to wake up at 5 am so that I can check out...Very nice. It's a little out of the city, so if you don't like dealing with as much hassle, noise, driving, and struggling to find a parking place ..its really nice
Very comfortable room with many useful amenities. Both of the rooms I stayed in had fully stocked kitchens including a stove, pans, dishes, a kettle, a refrigerator, etc.. (but no microwave). The larger room also had a clothes washing machine. Well located with a very short walk to the salt mine.
Breakfast was good and you can eat it on open terrace with a view to the park. The location is great - right in the park and next to the salt mine. Free private parking behind the hotel available. Air conditioning in the room. Bath in the bathroom.
Everything was wonderful. The floors are beautiful, the design is beautiful. The restaurant is great, decor of underground salt lamps. And 30 meters from the salt mine! Literally walking distance.
The room was clean with modern interior. The hotel is close to the road to Krakow and also close to the center of Wieliczka ( by car). Breakfast was pretty good.
