Greenery Resort Koh Tao, hotel in Koh Tao

Offering a sun terrace and views of the mountain, Greenery Resort Koh Tao is located in the south of Koh Tao Island, 1.3 km from Mae Haad Pier.

Greenery was a great place to stay. There was a really good on site restaurant with a wide ranging menu where we ate for most breakfasts and a couple of dinners. It was closed for a couple of days and a very short walk to the main road is a fabulous French cafe (open til 5pm) that did perfect for breakfast. Plus a shop very close too. The room was a good size, with a great shower, good a/c and very friendly and helpful staff. Greenery organised a taxi for us, there is a free shuttle to and from the pier, a book swap, lots of seating if you want to get out of your apartment. It was red hot when we were there so we didn't capitalise on the tiered garden area, but it looked really nice if you could get in the shade. We rented a couple of bokes for the day for a great price and scooters were also available. The location meant we could easily walk to the main street where there were loads of restaurants and dive shops and if you're feeling energetic you can also walk to Shark Bay and the John Suan (spelt wrong!) viewpoint.

Lots to do particularly if you want to scuba or snorkel.

Lots to do particularly if you want to scuba or snorkel. In my opinion it's more an adult destination as lots of bars and people openly smoke cannabis. Lots of mopeds racing around small streets. The food is great and value for money. If you enjoy travelling, take a boat taxi to other beaches or book a tour. There is plenty to do and see.

Travelling to Samui I was really disappointed with the snorkelling, luckily I had spare time at the end of the holiday where I hadn't booked & we took a 3 night trip to Koh Tao. It had the best beaches in Thailand in my opinion. Sairee beach had great restauarants, the Thai people were amazing (although this is the same wherever you go in Thailand). Getting around you really need a moped, which might put some people off.

A few days is nice here as it is a small island.

A few days is nice here as it is a small island. Great for diving and snorkling. However: - The coral is dead unfortunately, the few turtles are harrassed by tourists and are not treated nicely, Shark bay is owned by a resort and they profit from the tourism to the sharks. I advice to stay away from this part. - The island is not genuine Thai culture experience anymore but overrun by tourists unfortunately (March 2024). In the town there is not a spot without a scooter and party places. Weed places and stores everywhere and Western food. I would not recommend the town to people looking for culture, for genuine Thai experiences (except some restaurants) or for a quiet holiday if you stay close to town. Go look for accomodations far from the town centre and you will have an amazing time though (Jungle, freedom beach etc.) - Scooters are for experienced people only, we saw too many crashes/falls and people with severe injuries. It is really not worth it to rent a scooter if you do not know how to drive uphill/mountains and on the left side. If you go for it, wear at least a helmet and your children too. So many people with babies? and little kids? without a helmet, like are you really risking that? - Most of it you can just walk, walk or take a taxi if you are unknown with scooters

Our villa with own pool was the best.

Our villa with own pool was the best. If you dive and you are in your 20s you enjoy the place a lot. If you are older, it’s quickly seen. Sairee beach area is not my place . Other parts of the island I did not see; difficult to go around. I missed vegetables to eat on this island but fresh fruit shakes, I loved. Local food was cheap but delicious especially seafood.

Koh Tao isn't the biggest of islands, you can hire scooters but some of the island is different to access via scooter. We stayed in Mae Haad and there are plenty of restaurants/bars to choose from some of them being beachfront.

The roads to many places are insanely steep.

The roads to many places are insanely steep. Two people on a rental motorbike could not make it up some hills. We are not heavy people and a couple times one had to get off and walk. Alternatively if you think your going to taxi everywhere bring a large stack of cash. 300-400 THB each way, everywhere you go and that''s an 8 min drive. Islands pretty small. Best to have a rental motorbike for each person but even that was to scary for my partner. Also this island is really all about diving and partying. Excellent if that's you jam.

Isla Tortuga is a very special place to be in Koh Tao. Perfectly located next to the pier, not far from the action by foot or bike, but quieter than sairee beach, you have everything you need around you. The private rooms are amazing for the price. The team is just delightful. Spanish-speaking vibe (and music!) but very welcoming if you don't speak Spanish too. And the best, their team of scuba instructors is just top and very fun people to enjoy diving with. If you're in Koh Tao, do yourself a favor and look no further!

Firstly we absolutely loved each and every staff member from reception to the cleaners, they all made our stay really enjoyable. The rooms are cleaned everyday to a really high standard, always smelt great when we came back from our day out. The location is nice if you want to be close to the busy area but come back to some peace and tranquillity. Sairee beach is only 5mins away on a scooter. They also offer a really cheap taxi service within the hotel if you’re not renting a scooter. We would stay here again 100%

Firstly, I’d like to say how nice and helpful the staff were. They picked us up from the pier and when leaving arranged a car for us, whenever we had problems with our scooter they helped us and they were extremely nice throughout our stay! The room was great, bigger than what we originally had in mind, and very comfortable. just 3 minutes by scooter from Sairee beach, and we got it cleaned every day while we were gone exploring the island. We will definitely come back here again 😌 best stay I ever had.

Location for sure! My bungalow was located almost on the beach, close to the restaurant and diving place. I didn’t move around the island, I stayed on the beach and enjoyed last days of my 2 months vacation. There was everything I needed - few restaurants and diving center - Buddha View. And the beach - the best snorkelling spot on the island. 2 weeks before I did my open water diving course and wanted to practise my skills and this is the place to be!

There is a swimming pool available under the floor, however, it is a pool for scuba diving and a little bit deep for swimming as it is 2.7m less or more. The staffs were friendly to tell you all things you want to know and speak English very well. The price of our staying was not expensive as thought even though the expenses on the island are higher than in other Thailand cities. The facilities and services are worth paying at this price.

Cheap and easy laundry service. Great coffee shop at foot of accommodation. If you want to go diving Roctopus diving is right in the middle of Wind Beach and they're an excellent diving company.
