Its a historic town whose glory has now faded.
The Big Hole was definitely worth a visit, but most of the other historic houses and museums that we wanted to visit are closed during the weekend. (so, doesn't make sense for an out of town visitor at all)

People really friendly. Lots of old buildings which 8s amazing. Roads terrible though but everything else perfect. Great halaal places to eat was Don Boi and Mini Pakistan. Went to see the the Big Hole and learnt some great history. Places are really close to each other and easy to find.

The area around the Big Hole are horribly run down.
The area around the Big Hole are horribly run down. It has wonderful late- Victorian architecture and if the authorities got their act together, it would be a great tourist attraction. The Big Hole museum is well run, but so much more could be done with the once fabulous outdoor museum (replica of the original old town)

The CBD (city centre) was incredibly dirty (litter everywhere) and felt mildly unsafe. This is sadly and unfortunately true of so many towns/cities (both small and large) throughout South Africa these days.
The Big Hole Museum was a surprising breath of fresh air in an otherwise dirty and unwelcoming environment.
The city roads were fairly delipidated, with lots of small potholes. Again, this is simply an indictment of the corrupt and distressingly mismanaged municipalities and local government structures operating throughout South Africa.

Official tourist location are limited to the diamond and war history. There ought to be more local adventures that tourists could participate in; Live music concerts, festivals, interesting spaces to connect with other tourist perhaps.
Had lunch at the Protea Hotel (The Marriot), using a Bolt (Taxify). The drivers are friendly, so are the wait staff.

I work here so me and my partner explored Both Galeshewe and The City trips, Diamond Pavilion and Pass by North Cape Mall and Sol Plaatje University, we’re I work.
We’re both from Mafikeng. He came For Diamond Knights Bikers Charity event.
The service was great! The guy called me before checking in to inform me of a crisis at their premises and assured me that I'd get a room at one of their other lodges (Kimberley Botique), that's where I actually spent the night.
The room was neat and clean, so was the bathroom! Top-notch shower! Loved it!
Everything!!!
This place is "home away from home ".
I loved that it had everything from a spoon to an iron. Beds and pillows is so comfortable.
It's definitely not your typical guest house, more like self catering accommodation.
Will surely make use of it again when in Kimberly.
A very nice and small hotel in the center of Kimberley, close to the mall and main roads. The staff were friendly and very helpful. Room was spacious with a full bathroom, separate bath and walk-in shower. A good breakfast to start the day and secure underground parking.
The rooms were very comfortable. The manager/owner went out of her way to make sure that we were comfortable. We were very fortunate to have water (Jojo tank), when there were no water in Kimberley for a couple of days. Thank you. Place is good for overnight stay.
The property has all the historic charm of 1895 Kimberley, but it’s definitely been better maintained than the rest of the City in the last century. Breakfast was great, staff were accommodating and helpful and it had all the necessary amenities.
We did not have breakfast at all, because we just wanted to overnight at the hotel. We did not have any water to shower or even brush our thooth. We could not make use of the toilet because of not having water. We weren't alert of the water at all.
Nicolene was an exceptional and outstanding host and presence during our stay.
She was knowledgeable, relatable and offered great service.
She is an asset to the Kimberley Anne Hotel.
The food was absolutely delicious
Our room was big and the bathroom blew us away! There was a cute space outside to have tea by the pool as well, and the staff was very friendly and helpful. Location is very convenient too, close to major attractions.
The owner was very accommodating. The unit was very neat and clean. There were emergency lights during load-shedding. There was backup water because Kimberley didn't have water, could take a shower and go on.
Very nice hotel in the center of Kimberley. Great food, super fast WiFi, clean comfortable rooms with smart TV and everything you need for your stay in a 4 star hotel.
Graham is the best thing to have happened to our trip. Caring, Concerned, Warm and knows a lot about Kimberley. Drove us around and made our stay pleasant!
