The apartment was very clean, exactly as described. Good location close to sea, and 10 minute walk to main square. Lots of good places to eat and drink.

If you love tracking, hiking, beaches, nature and you are a lover of the volcanic paradises you will love El Medano. There is no way that this place will be boring to anyone. The region is amazing and there is a lot to discover! The nature that embraces you is something that no one will forget. The important thing at El Medano is to have the correct apparels to take advantage of the place: Tracking sandals or shoes, always have you bathing suit under you tracking clothes, take advantages of the natural swimming pools built from the nature, you need to be fit and healthy to walk through this environmental. Great for children, as well, but the volcanic walks I would not recomment for very samll children. If you want to visit the region, get your kids used to walk and to love the tracking and hiking of the nature! You will never regret this experience!

El Medano is a good sport for windsurfing, kiting and Wind foiling. Its is generally windy even during the winter months. The town is small enough to feel quite intimate and has a nice buzzing vibe. A great place to socialise after a day on the water. On less windy days there are options for biking, or generally keeping fit with running or walking.
We ate out for breakfast and dinner and sampled a variety of cafes and restaurants in the town, mainly close to the main square. We enjoyed the food at all of them. They're not fancy but the prices are very reasonable.

Plus point if you're on a short trip is that it's very near the airport (taxi approx €20 with tip). Small town with plenty of bars and restaurants, also good supermarkets if you're self catering. There are several beaches, and there are walking trails to the hills nearby (which you can see from the seafront). The centre of town and the main beach get quite busy, but if you prefer it quieter you can walk along the seafront to less busy areas - fewer bars and facilities, but some lovely beaches within 20 min walk. We were there early March - temperature was low to mid 20s, mostly sunny, some patchy cloud. If you're into sailboarding there are places to hire equipment & have lessons. It's a laid back place - no nightclubs and not rowdy. In summary, a good place to come to relax and enjoy the sea and sun. If you want clubs, loads of activities etc, probably somewhere else would suit you better.

This is not your normal kind of tourist resort, its more Spanish and has a lot of locals with families which we liked. Has a very good water sport facility, if you are into this. Not many sun loungers are available on the beach which we liked, made it more natural. We mainly used hotel pool which was good for us. Beach and town was kept clean, with lots of dogs around, we were impressed.
The nearby red mountain nature park area was very accessible and lovely to walk in, but you need good shoes.

Very nice town in the south of the island close to the airport. Everything is reached very nicely by car. The town offers a variety of really nice fish restaurants, supermarkets, bars, and even a few beaches in town or super close by. Perfect for a long or short stay - and even more perfect if you don't want to get a car, since it's super close to the airport (3 min drive) and has public transport.

We came here for for great windsurfing spot.
We came here for for great windsurfing spot. Other than that it is a pretty boring place. Living is relatively inexpensive though. Public transportation is not bad, however there is no direct connection to anywhere. It is always necessary to change the bus at San Isidro.
The property has a wonderful balcony with plenty of space to sit out there and enjoy a meal or a drink in the evening. Due to the direction of the balcony, it avoids most of the very high winds associated with El Medano. The bedrooms are spacious and the beds are comfortable. The kitchen came well equipped and the added bonus of a washing machine meant that we could travel light and wash clothes as needed. The pool was also really beautiful. The hosts were kind enough to leave beach towels for us to use which came in handy.
It is super nice apartment, new and fully equipped. Very clean. Very comfortable (we were there 2 with 16 y.o. son) and located 5 min walk from the beautiful beach. Small balcony and air conditioning in place. Very good contact with the owner - before & during the stay. Super easy to get and leave back the keys. There is a parking slot in the underground garage - important as in El Medano is not so easy to park (note - parking place is quite narrow). If we come back to Tenerife - we will come back to this apartment :)
When we first arrived we were greeted, and our room was upgraded. The views are amazing and also the spa. Break, lunch and dinner was served every day, but we only did the breakfast. Pool was a little to cold for me, but my husband jump in with no problem. It’s a small town about 17 min walk from the hotel that had a lot of different shops and restaurants. Over all the stay was great and we are planning to return in the summer.
Very nice hostel witch a good vibe, a lot of common spaces to relax and meet other guests. Helpfull staff. Located right in the centre of the town. There was no problem with leaving my luggage after check out to enjoy last hours in Tenerife before flying back. I just stayed one night before my departure and I was very positively surprised (I could easily stay more, liked the town and a hostel a lot).
Perfect view of Red Mountain and we loved the sunset view of the water. Afternoon sun on the balcony was perfect for a relaxing beverage! Everything was very close - beach, restaurants, groceries, walking trails. Very relaxing two weeks. We spent the first week without a car. that was enough time to fully explore El Medano and the trails there. Second week with a car let us explore more of Tenerife.
I liked nothing about this hotel. It was like the worst hotel I ever stayed in.
You will never get asleep in this place all night parties singing music.
There was a bad smell in the hotel and the beds are hard so if you have a bad back like I do well not nice.
I don't like talking about hotels that I stayed but I think I need to let people know about this one very bad.
Charlie,
The location is really good especially if you want to stay away from the tourist masses.
El Medano is quiet and probably with the best beaches in the south of Tenerife.
Our apartment had a nice view to the ocean. Nearby you have bars, restaurants and grocery stores.
The apartment itself is a pleasant although a bit outdated but we had everything we needed.
We had a short stay, it was quiet and intimate, except for the planes, but the location is near the airport so it cannot be helped. There is a small groceries shop nearby. Parking was not a problem, this was great. The room is small, the sofa extends into a bed. I consider it ok for young couples. If you want to visit Tenerife, I suggest to rent a car.
The apartment was very well equipped for cooking and relaxing. We loved the balcony and sun terrace and would often have our evening drinks there. The beach and town were just a few walking minutes away. We are planning on returning to El Medano in the near future and will be booking the same apartment again.
We did not expect much after reading some of the reviews, but I must say the hotel was very nice, modern and in excellent location with on-site parking. Our room was comfy with ocean and mountain view, quiet. Breakfast buffet was also OK. Pool seemed nice with chill vibes, but we didn't go there once.
The location is good - very close to cheap supermarket. Close to everything, but far enough from the center, so a crazy concert at the LENT was amazingly not audible at all. 10 minute walk to the South Bay. The apartment is well equipped (even with a washing machine!). The price was competitive.
Access to the ocean directly from the terrace, wonderful breakfast, helpful and kind staff, big balcony... We spontaneously decided to make a 3 night stay in Tenerife and chose this place and hotel by chance - we liked it so much that we decided to also spend our Christmas vacations here!
Spacious comfortable apartment in very good location. Convenient with kids, as there is a quiet at night, no loud night life. It is close to shops, beach, citycenter. Easy entrance for strollers. We also got baby high chair.
El Médano is very nice place to stay when in Tenerife.
Perfect place for a small group of people to enjoy Tenerife. Apartment was very clean, there was everything you could need during your stay (kitchen appliences etc). The location was nice: quiet neighborhood, close to the beach and a bus stop was really close.
We had a wonderful stay at Hotel Medano. Evertything was just so nice and the staff were all so very serviceminded. The breakfast is " over the top " ! And the room was far nicer than expected at that price! We will definately stay again when visiting Medano!
Great location in downtown El Medano. Free Breakfast. Homemade bread, tea, hard boiled eggs, cheese, fruit, coffee. Affordable tours offered. Friendly helpful staff. Plenty of common seating, cool music, spacious common kitchen.
Hotel was right on the beach, breakfast was excellent with loads of choice hot and cold. Very quiet and the Hotels own restaurant was excellent if wanting an evening meal of lunch time snack
Really friendly host and lovely accommodation - a great start to our Tenerife stay. Close to centre of town so very easy to find restaurants, shops etc.
