When booking, I thought I was reserving a room at the B&B. When checking in, I had actually booked into the hostel portion of the facility. When I informed the owner, Margaret, that was not what we wanted, she immediately switched us to the B&B across the road call Michaeleen's Manor. She was very apologetic and could not have been any nicer. The breakfast was delicious and there was a variety of items to choose from. The room was nice. The bed was comfortable and all was very clean.

We were on a flying visit, but I know the village as I grew up nearby. Unless the weather is appalling, it us a great place to go. Lovely quaint village with lots of walks, caves, boat trips & eateries. Ideal for families and couples & those with wee dogs.

There were many interesting sets from The Quiet Man movie, as a well as a Quiet Man museum with costumes and props from the movie. There were coffee shops, restaurants and pubs, and a variety of clothing and souvenir shops. Getting around Cong was very easy. Parking in town was a little difficult, but there are two car parks, one just as you enter town and one near the church.

If at all possible --- go to Ireland's School of Falconry!!
If at all possible --- go to Ireland's School of Falconry!! Yvonne and Tommy were excellent! It was an experience of a lifetime. The grounds of Ashford Castle are gorgeous!! And it was a great surprise to see the lodge used for Danagher's house as we were walking through the gardens to the School of Falconry. The Monk's fishing cabin is cool.
Of course, The Quiet Man sites were fun. Aran Knitwear is a lovely store. I wish they'd have a few Clancy Brothers-type cables, but the modern, sleeker ones are pretty.
Pat Cohan's was delicious for dinner and had a luxury menu at good prices. Nice specialty cocktails, too.
We ate at Danagher's pub for lunch and the beef stew was huge and tasty (if a little salty). It reminded me of my uncle's rec room in the 60s.
The Irish History bookstore (Rare & Recent Books) was worth visiting. Extensive collection, modern titles, great old books, books in Irish, children's books, too. The prices were good.
Everyone we met in Cong was friendly and had good info!

We loved Cong.
We loved Cong. It was a beautiful town and area, with a gorgeous ruined abbey, forest walks, caves, an impressive manor house, quaint stores... The food was excellent at the Crow's Nest, and we LOVED the live music by Stephen and Trish. The salmon at Lydon's Lodge was incredible. The porridge at the Puddleducks Cafe, delicious. We HIGHLY recommend the Irish History Bookshop on Main Street. The owner, Robert, a historian himself, was able to provide us with so much information about the area's archaeological history that interested us. From Cong we explored the Nymphsfield Standing Stones (hard to find, but super-cool), the Ballymacgibbon Cairn, Moyne Castle, and Annaghkeen Castle. Cong is also the perfect base for day-trips to the Connemara Penninsula, and to the Aran Islands.
The location: near Cong and adjacent to Ashford Castle. Also loved meeting our hosts, Patricia and Gerard, who welcomed us and left us all the fixings for an Irish breakfast. Thirdly, our villa looked brand new: was spotlessly clean and decorated beautifully and comfortably. We also loved walking into Cong and through the grounds of the Ashford Castle.
Brilliant location in one of the most beautiful
villages in Ireland. Beds were really comfy, and rooms were extremely clean. Breakfast was really tasty, with plenty of options and very plentiful. Staff couldn't have been better, they were so friendly and helpful.
We were an adult family of five and enjoyed every minute of it. Can't wait to go back.
Beautiful comfortable property
Warm welcome from Sean.
Excellent car parking space. Bedroom warm spacious airy and so comfortable.
Perfect haven after a long days driving. Few mins from Cong village and Ashford Castle. Mary is a wonderful host and makes guests feel welcome and at ease.
10/10 for this excellent property in Co Mayo.
I had the best experience with one of the hotel staff ? Celeste! She was absolutely awesome and went above and beyond to make sure our stay was spectacular ! One in a million ! She was the absolute best. It was my birthday when we stayed there and she made sure we had the best stay ever! Loved it all!
Breakfast and dinners were all superb. The quality and service was also excellent. We had the most lovely couple nights away and can't wait to come back again soon! The location is perfect - relaxing, close to amenities at Ashford Castle, lovely walks and trails to explore and close to Cong village.
Parking was good around the hotel. Location excellent and so near the famous Ashford castle grounds which you can walk around. Cong is a lovely location to stay in. Kitchen facilities were good at the hostel. Had a very comfortable sleep.
right in middle of Cong, short walk to John Wayne statue and woods to walk in. Breakfast was good, coffee good and we were happy. Fun deck out back where we had drink after dinner. We ate at restaurant in town. Liked Cong town.
Good location and few minutes from Cong. It was comfortable, private and the hosts were very nice. Had a good size TV, most other places have very small TVs, I like big TVs so I can see what I'm watching.
Luskins is in an amazing location, if i was ever in the west of Ireland i would 100% use again. It is ideal if you are attending a wedding nearby or going for a little relaxing break.
Very nice place. The hotel and the pub downstairs are run by great people. Helpful and always nice. Great food. And live music at evenings. Cong is a very interesting place to visit.
Such a great location to Cong and Ashford Castle. walking distance from pubs and shops.
A very spacious property with all amenities required for a comfortable stay. Highly recommend!
Location was perfect, Cong is a very small village and given the area its a convenient location within the village, breakfast was perfect.
Would i stay again, probably would.
Lovely accomodation on the unique island of Cong. Very pleasant & welcoming staff. Quality patrons. Cong village & Ashford Castle, a must visit destination.
