Me and the Missus agreed that’s the best place we’ve ever stayed at.

Donegal is a beautiful area, rugged and less crowded in April. Would highly recommend this area, particularly to people who like walking/hiking opportunities. Slieve League is a must and Glenveagh castle and gardens, which are open, are charming. Other attractions in the area are worth a visit.

North west Donegal has spectacular beaches without any doubt. There are far too many houses built on land that has sea views, this has to be ignored by any visitors.
The Fanad peninsula was the best place, not as developed.

Donegal is one of the loveliest parts of Ireland and always worth a visit, from the wild countryside to Errigal mountain and the rugged coastline. The people are very friendly and welcoming. This was a short visit, but I have been before and stayed longer.

O' Donnell castle or Donegal castle was the highlight of our stay, plus a visit to Slieve League, as it was raining so much we just travelled around in the care, taking in the views as we could. Donegal is a great County to visit but you need the sunshine to see it at its best. If you visit Ireland, Donegal is a must place to go. Tara Hotel in Killybegs is the place to have your meals, great food great staff.
This is an exceptionally appointed hotel and located in silvan surroundings by Lough Eske a few miles outside the town of Donegal. The staff were most welcoming from the moment we walked through the door and could not have been more friendly and this includes all staff who bade us a 'good morning' whenever they passed inside or outside the hotel. The whole dining experience whether in the main restaurant or bar area was a delight. Servicing of our room was undertaken daily and most thoroughly.
The location is stunning with views over Lough Eske and its amazing surroundings. We were there for a wedding at Lough Eske Castle and the house was absolutely perfect, just a five minute drive from the hotel. The host, Paul, had a wood-burning stove lit on our arrival and had stocked the fridge with essentials like milk and butter. The house is beautiful, perfectly clean and had everything we needed. I couldn't recommend it highly enough for any sort of holiday near Donegal town.
Good quiet cosy little bungalow, with everything you need for a wee self catering break away ,warm and quiet with the option of having a real fire it suited us perfectly as we were attending the harvest rally and didn't want to be in a hotel in town as parking is a nightmare, we fitted two cars into our yard easily ,situated just off the n56 killybegs road it offers easy access to donegal town ,the fishing port of killybegs and a great base for touring donegal County,
Jenny, the host, was absolutely lovely and went above and beyond to make our stay as comfortable as possible. Our daughter got to feed the animals on the farm and there was orange juice, milk, butter in the fridge. We had fresh farm eggs and bread as well as fruit and snacks. The cabin is beautiful and well kitted out. It is close to Rossnowlagh and Murvagh beaches - excellent for swimming and surfing - and sits between Donegal Town and Ballyshannon.
The location was great. Having use of the pool in the Mill Park hotel was brilliant. (Two adults were free and it was €6.50 per child for 40 minutes). 15 minute walk to Donegal town which has lots of shops and restaurants. Short drive to Rossnowlagh and Murvagh beaches. Two minute drive to the Wild Atlantic Way. Comfortable Beds.
Felt very welcome here. Staff were very friendly and couldn't of done enough for you. The hotel was spotless and the food was beautiful. Location was excellent too with being in the centre of Donegal town and just a short drive to Bundoran and Rossnowlagh beach. Perfect for families. Will be back for sure!
I have stayed at the Abbey Hotel before and on this trip I brought friends for their first trip to Ireland. Like me, they now live The Abbey Hotel. We wish our trip had allowed us a second night in the hotel. Great staff, accommodation, and location!!!!
Beautiful hotel. Room was massive. Extremely comfortable. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful, gave us great suggestions to check out in the town. The Blas restaurant attached was phenomenal as well. Will definitely be back here next time I'm Donegal!
Ros Dun is just a lovely place to stay. Very friendly hosts, a comfortable, sparkling clean B&B that's within an easy walk to Donegal Castle and downtown Donegal Town. Parking was very convenient, an important benefit since Donegal Town is a popular stop.
Spotlessly clean, spacious , nicely decorated room, with good sized bathroom, and good shower. Comfortable bed. Excellent location, minutes walk to Donegal town centre.Lovely friendly staff. Excellent breakfast . Highly recommend.
The staff at the hotel were outstanding, we arrived very early (1200) and the staff immediately sorted our room for us. The room was comfortable and warm the whole hotel set the experience for a wonderful time in Donegal town.
Very clean n spacious room, friendly staff through out the hotel, nice food, bar n sitting area comfy, good location to town centre,10 minute walk,2 minutes in taxi, definitely recommend staying here
Staff was friendly, room was clean, bathroom was nice. Centrally located downtown. No parking, but not an issue since there was a very reasonably priced car park near the hotel.
Lovely big room and ensuite, 2 minute walk to town, comfy bed and lovely continental breakfast. Donegal was one of our favourite places on our quick tour of Ireland
