Many families visiting Chobe loved staying at Xhabe Safari Lodge Chobe, Jackalberry Chobe, and Travelodge Kasane.
Kasane is okay for a quick Chobe River trip or even a safari into the Chobe Forest, which is beautiful. This was the end of our safari, and I preferred our safari planned out of Maun. Kasane was too touristy for my taste. But it does have all of the services you could want. Kalahari tours next door has a great gift shop. The river trip with elephants and hippos is a treat. It's a beautiful river.
Chobe is an outstanding park! The town of Kasane is nice, friendly, quiet and you can get whatever supplies you need. Good restaurants also.
Kasane was just right for one night for us but Chobe River Cottages self catering could also be used for multiple nights and Kasane used as an exit point to explore the Chobe National Park area as well as daytripping to Victoria Falls among other attractions in the area.
Kasane is a nice little town which stretches along the Chobe River so we advise to stay there 2 nights and visit Chobe National Park, have a cruise and feel the river life and it has many lovely places to stay at in all different ranges! It is also the gateway to Livingstone and Kafue national Park in Zambia and on the other side Victoria Falls (1 hour drive) after which you can combine it with more Zimbabwe highlights as Hwange National Park, Lake Kariba, Matopos National Park, Great Zimbabwe Ruins etc!
Busy local village with all activities built around tourists visiting for game viewing and the Chobe river. Friendly people and reasonable amenities.
The Chobe national park is tremendous. Kasane is near the entraince. We went in the park by boat and by safaricar. So beautiful. You can see the wilderness, lions, elephants, girafs, buffalo's, etc and the spectacular sunsets
The town feels very comfortable and safe and it was fun seeing the warthogs skipping about. Accommodation was comfortable and from what we could see varied to cater for all levels. Getting cash can be tricky, especially on a long weekend (which we did not realise when we landed). Restaurants were very good and there are many companies doing game drives, boat cruises and trips to Victoria Falls. Our experiences in Chobe national park were excellent and it is only a few minutes from centre of town. We have done self drive in Kruger and etosha but were quite happy not to self drive in Chobe. There can be lively music in the evenings.
Great starting point to explore Chobe Nationalpark and Forests to the South. As commercial as it gets in Botswana.
Very accessible for Chobe tours and to see a variety of animals without travelling far. Tours are reasonably priced as well.
This is the gateway to Chobe national park. We went on three safaris morning, boat and evening. The boat and evening were best. We had an excellent buffet lunch at Chobe Marina Lodge for $21. The markets on the sides of the road are over priced. Livingston was much better for buying souvenirs.
Kasane
Stay here in one of the Chobe river front villas just for the view! On the 1st afternoon we had a herd of elephants with young in front of our balcony for over an hour. On the 2nd night we watched 3 adult hippos with 2 babies feeding right next to the protective fence in front of our balcony. It was incredible - better & closer than what we saw on the our paid safaris in Botswana and Kruger. Villas were clean and spacious.
The breakfast buffet was amazing with views from the restaurant over the Chobe river. The activities desk was extremely helpful and organized a private birding boat trip for us with a birding guide as well as a full day drive to Chobe National Park with lunch. The sunset cruise departing directly from the hotel is also recommended. Our family room was spacious, modern and clean.
Kasane
If you feel home away from home, there is not much else to say. Idah, Dan and their team are such nice people who will do everything they can to help you having a wonderful time in Kasane/Chobe. We came back a second time and they helped us to organise our border crossing to Zambia. If we come back to Botswana, we definitely come back to Idah and Dan.
Kasane
A very beautiful and unique hotel located along the Chobe river. the place is very quite and clean with a nice garden full of a variety of flowers. the hosts were very friendly and very professional, they assisted us in booking game drives and boat cruises in the Chobe national park.
Breakfast was excellent. A busy hotel with a conference in progress. Not a huge number of eateries in Kasane and you have to watch out for elephants on road when driving at night. A great place to book onto a boat trip on the Chobe for elephant, buffalo, crocs, nyala etc..
Kasane
Very nice and friendly staff. Arranged a fun small boat nature tour for us and recommended local restaurants. Homey atmosphere in a handful of individual cottages with small living room and kitchen. Easy gated parking. Close to Chobe National Park.
Kasane
Well equipped and modern apartment Separate living room and bedroom Apartment was very clean All necesary equipment for self service is available Good price level given the quality of the rooms and the nearby Chobe National Park
Best food we've had in Botswana, friendliest staff, great service, amazing view and super comfortable beds. I highly recommend this place when visiting Chobe riverfront area in Botswana!
Beautiful bright and clean hostel! Met some nice folks and went on an amazing early morning safari (super cheap!!) to chobe National park arranged through the hostel😊💓
The place is in the city center, giving you access you the malls and closer to the chobe river. The restaurant staff has very good customer service.
Muchenje
Loved the room, viewing deck, location was great to explore a different area of botswana besides the generic chobe/kasane area.
Kasane
Everything.the staff super helpful and it is in a great location.everything to do in Chobe is accessible from the hotel
The view over the Chobe, the pool and the very friendly and attentive staff.
Great location and place in Kasane!
Everything about this place is amazing, please go and see for yourself
The owners have done a nice job maintaining the property, and the staff enjoy their jobs. All very friendly and willing to help. The rooms are very well decorated, and the grounds well taken care of. The personal touches, like freshly baked muffins and cookies at the coffee stand available all day. An exceptional place to relaxed and unwind, with a beautiful location. Sofia, the manager and member of the family that owns the place, is another reason why our stay was so incredible, she is a delight!!
The staffs are very kind and helpful . Also I required 1night camping tour for Chobe national park. The owner looked for the agency that can offer me the tour, because I was alone ,it was very difficult to look for any tour I joined by myself. But she found it for me.
