Set in Tuddal, 12 km from Gaustatoppen, Tuddal Høyfjellshotel offers accommodation with a fitness centre, free private parking, a garden and a terrace. We loved absolutely everything about this gem of a property: the location in a stunning natural environment, the adorable staff, the unique history and decor of the hotel full of collectible and heirloom furniture and, of course the wonderful dinner. Food certainly was a highlight as this is generally where Norway fails to impress us. We were served a fresh, creative, and delicious dinner in the beautiful dining room overlooking the fjell. The chef even adjusted the menu for the vegetarians among us, creating genuine new dishes for us. Wow! Again, that was unexpected as eating veg in Norway is often a challenge. Everything felt authentic and personal in this independently-run property. Dinner starts with a presentation of the history of the place by the owner, their struggles during Covid and how they overcame them. Charmingly, this introduction included the reading of a poem (sadly we don’t understand Norwegian so had to rely on the translation of the presentation afterwards). Every effort is made to be sustainable : There’s a vegetable garden, the delicious bread is baked on the premisses (we took a box of the amazing Flatbrød with us) and the lovely shop sells some local cheese, honey and other specialties including, this being Norway, sweets :) We are already dreaming of a next stay to the Tuddal Høyfjellshotel to experience more of its magic and of the stunning nature around it as our stay this time was way too short. Note to the owners: stay as you are, you are a genuine gem and the world needs more places like yours. Thank you for everything!

On a wooded hillside in Morgedal, this hotel offers an indoor swimming pool in the heart of Telemark. Guests can enjoy free Wi-Fi and the neighbouring ski slalom. Hotel is located in very calm area, surrounded by gorgeous Norwegian wild forests. We have been here out of the main season, thanks to that hotel was pretty empty. For a special attention hotel restaurant deserves. Both breakfasts and dinners are prepared on the highest level. Breakfast is very diverse and beautifully served. You will definitely find something for yourself. For dinner we can have very limited number of dishes but those are amazing. I think it is advantage, because it makes you sure they are made of fresh ingredients. For a special attention deserves the waiter (bald man with a beard and huge muscles 😂). He was very talkative and helpful and professional 👏🏻. (He definitely deserves pay raise 😊) we felt really taken care of.

Set in Kragerø, 600 metres from Gunnarsholmen Beach, Kragerø Hotell features a shared lounge and views of the city. The hotel features family rooms. The units in the hotel are fitted with a TV. Fantastic location, overlooking the harbor. Very modern interior. Picked up a delicious breakfast tray in the lobby. Very comfortable bed.

Tollboden Hotell - Unike Hoteller features a garden, shared lounge, a terrace and restaurant in Kragerø. The property is non-smoking and is set 700 metres from Gunnarsholmen Beach. Staff were so friendly! The orchard was great, fresh plums and apples. Very unique! Full of history! Yummy bfast. Super comfy beds! My elderly parents were given a better room where the bed wasn't so low to the ground. Thank you,

Lifjellstua has a garden, shared lounge, a terrace and restaurant in Lifjell. Featuring a bar, the property is located within 10 km of Bø Summerland. Location, simplicity. I would definitely go again and recommend!

Situated on Lake Vågslidvatn, this hotel is 4 km away from Haukelifjell Ski Centre. It offers free WiFi and accommodation with scenic views. rooms were simple but extremely clean. there was a nice sitting area with a great view, good lighting, strong Wi-Fi, and a great remodelled bathroom. breakfast was outstanding and mat pakke was reasonably priced if you needed it. staff were very nice and the common areas were cozy with different sitting areas.

Located 180 km from Oslo, 440 km from Gothenburg, in the heart of Telemark you will find Gausta at 1000 m altitude above Rjukan and Vestfjorddalen. Excellent facilities and view!

Originally built in 1894, Dalen Hotel is situated close to the peaceful shores of the Telemark Canal and Lake Bandak. It offers free WiFi internet and free private parking. All the staff from front desk to restaurant were exceptional. Special praise for Joao and Lorenzo . We learned so much about wine and cocktails from them.

Situated by the town hall in Skien city centre, Thon Hotel Høyers offers free WiFi and private parking is possible. It was warm welcoming environment with very friendly staff. Great breakfast and very comfortable rooms

Set in Gaustablikk, 3.4 km from Gaustatoppen, Gausta View Lodge offers accommodation with a garden, free private parking, a terrace and a restaurant. Lovely place to stay for ski in ski out, nice breakfast across the street, will defiantly stay there again. friendly and helpful staff.
