It's a very attractive little lakeside town with a medieval...
It's a very attractive little lakeside town with a medieval centre, including intact and walkable fortification wall, and lots of nice places to eat. It is well-connected transport-wise for visits to nearby attractions like the roman ruins in Avenches or the (really well-worth visiting) 12th century abbey in Payerne. Cosy town. Away from the hustle bustle of a larger tourist city. Offers all lakeside water sports and family friendly entertainment and restaurants. Driving to nearby tourist spots possible in an hour radius. Large picnic ground and beach volleyball possible

The location is stunning overlooking the lake, and it's right at the old town/historic centre that is anyhow "a must" to visit. The bed was very comfortable and also the pillows just right for us. We had the most amazing dinner in the restaurant - it was a bit pricey, but in the end, we can honestly say we felt it was completely worth it... absolutely delicious - and very attentive staff.SharonSwitzerland

Breakfast was entirely self-serve (in these covid-19 times) but well presented and fully adequate. It's a very quiet location. For travellers by car, there seemed adequate on-site parking which is certainly not always the case for hotels in the middle of Murten.MartinSwitzerland

The same holds true also for the train station and boat pier, as well. But the very central location also means that in the room there is a lot of noise from the street. The room and the common areas were fairly clean. The bed was comfy. The hotel’s WiFi worked well.

I was pleasantly surprised, the room and bathroom were clean and spacious although fairly spartan. Breakfast was good and we were able to eat outside, enjoying the morning sun. The warning of the DJ playing until 1.30am did not materialise. We did not hear a thing in our room, perfect night's sleep.

The hotel room was recently renovated, the old hardwood floors are giving it a nice atmosphere but the facilities are new. The owners are very committed and gave helpful tips and their restaurant on the ground floor is great for a nice dinner!
