Such a jewel!!! I loved the concept and execution, it really feels you are in Ryokan in Japan. Everything is super clean, beds are very comfy, we ordered evening meal and it was just magical. Service and curtesy of staff is what really make this place special. you feel welcome and at home. Location is also top. Highly recommend

No nonsense hotel excellent price. Breakfast included. Great location 10 minute walk to sanctuary, bus station and Burger King across the road, McDonald’s round the corner , supermarket next door, local restaurants along the street

The hotel facilities are good. The rooms size is perfect, the beds are good and the food offer is varied and of good quality. Overall that is a very no nonsense choice where you are relatively sure to get what you pay for. Of course the views are stunning and the ocean proximity gives the hotel a unique charm

It was a great stay! The staff was very friendly, comprehensive and helpful. The room was very comfortable and clean and the japanese vibes were all over the ryokan. The SPA moment was relaxing. I had the japanese breakfast experience and it was so tasty!

Right in the center of town and easy to find. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. The building mix of traditional Portuguese and Japanese gives the place a cozy and relaxing atmosphere. The bed was comfortable and the "magic" toilet was really fun! Both the jacuzzi and sauna followed by breakfast (kasutera included) was an amazing way of starting the day. The traditional breakfast was also really good and worth trying.

Our stay at Viseu Ryokan could not have been better! It is a unique, serene experience, in a very clean, modern, small hotel, installed in a historic building. The staff are friendly, knowledgeable and quick to respond with help. We took advantage of the spa experience and with rainy days it was a treat to take a sauna or schedule a massage, in between walks through the historic center of Viseu. Breakfast was delicious, and tea is readily available. We grew to feel at home at the hotel and in Viseu.

a non-nonsense hotel where everything was designed and is attended for in an intelligent manner towards the satisfaction of clients. I particularly liked the fact that air in the rooms is renewed with air from the exterior notwithstanding the extra-cost to the hotel because of the cold outside temperature. to our surprise the restaurant was excellent.

This is a no-nonsense hotel, everything just works. The staff is nice, the wifi is good, the beds are big and comfy, the breakfast is not too varied but more than adequate (and served until 11AM!). I could say there's nothing spectacular but, really, having no single dislike I can mention, makes it spectacular. Also, it's a 4 star, so, spectacular is not a requirement.
